Activists for gun control are always thinking of new methods to restrict the Second Amendment.

Although a mass shooter in Buffalo, New York recently claimed strict regulation of firearms measures as a reason for him targeting the town, they insist that this is for safety and protection.

It has been repeatedly said that proponents of gun control won’t be content until the Second Amendment is nullified and nobody is permitted to buy or own a gun.

Supporters of stricter gun laws repeatedly avoid saying where the boundaries are or when they’ve had enough.

According to Fox Business, the pro-gun control camp is now cheering the decisions that were made by credit card companies to clearly classify the transactions of weapons and other connected items.

Before today, when Americans used their credit cards to purchase weapons, such purchases were recorded as sports goods. Nevertheless, American Express, MasterCard, and Visa have declared that they would record these acquisitions independently as sales of weapons.

The proponents of gun control claim that this is a victory since it can avert mass shootings from happening. This is still up for debate, though, because it’s not made clear how exactly it might prevent mass shootings.

The payment card providers will provide a special code generator along with this new classification of firearms purchases.

Credit card companies reportedly have the right to flag a person’s purchase of weapons if they make a number of “suspicious” consecutive transactions.

Democrats seem to be relying on this when they claim that the new system will put an end to mass shootings. Following intense pressure from Democratic officials and the pro-gun control movement, Visa, American Express, and MasterCard decided to take this course.

Many conservatives and proponents of gun rights have raised concerns about this selection of significant credit card providers.

Those who are worried worry that this would result in a complete stigma around gun sales, with people being inherently suspect just for purchasing these weapons.

Others have cautioned that future transactions that are unrelated to guns might raise a red signal with credit card issuers. In the end, a lot of Americans are worried about how deep this new change may go, how it might lead to other decisions, etc.

People from all political backgrounds were daring to express their opinions on social media regarding this move by major credit card corporations and the actual effects this new classification system would have.
