Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic speaker of the House, represents much of San Francisco in the House of Representatives. They’re incredibly affluent, thanks to her husband’s job as an investment manager, and she steers the Democratic Party away from policies that would annoy her wealthy backers.

Now she is embroiled in a scandal when her husband Paul was arrested for DUI in a Porsche while allegedly leaving a dinner party at the couple’s Napa County vineyard/estate.

Paul Pelosi, the 82-year-old husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following his arrest for drunk driving.

Authorities have accused Pelosi’s husband of one count of driving under the influence and a second count of driving with a blood-alcohol content level of 0.08 or more, according to several sources. Both of these counts are major traffic violations.

Paul was supposedly driving his Porsche on California’s State Route 29 on Saturday evening when he was engaged in an automobile collision with a man driving a Jeep.

According to the California Highway Patrol, there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

As a consequence of the incident, officials charged Paul with misdemeanors and booked him into the Napa County Detention Center around midnight. He was released early Sunday morning after posting a $5,000 bail.

A spokesman for the California congresswoman claimed that neither the senator nor her spouse will be commenting on the incident.

Drew Hammill, her spokesperson, released a statement to the press in which he stated that the speaker would not be commenting on the private event that occurred when she was on the East Coast. The comment was made by Hammill.

While he was in Providence, Rhode Island, the House Speaker delivered his remarks at Brown University’s graduating celebration.

On Twitter, she shared a link to a live broadcast of the ceremony with the remark, “Join me live as I deliver the Commencement Oration to 2022 graduates and get an honorary doctorate degree.” People were reporting and asking inquiries about her husband’s incarceration on her Twitter page.

Paul has also refused to comment on his drunk driving issue.
