Behavior can be used to identify suspicious persons. While not every behavioral activity proves that someone intends to act badly, their behaviors are distinct from what is going on in their thinking, just like in this group’s case it does.

“The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” staff members were detained Thursday night for illegally entering a House office building.

On January 6, seven people were arrested in the Longworth House Office Building after being kicked out of a committee meeting because they did not have the proper credentials to cover the proceedings.

Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy R-California and Rep. Lauren Boebert R-Colo were recorded and photographed by the same group Thursday night after the Capitol complex was closed to the public.

Fox News said seven persons affiliated with Stephen Colbert’s show were taken into custody.

The group was suspected of breaking into House offices after hours without authorization.

Press credentials for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” were refused by the House Radio/TV Gallery because they were not considered “news.” The Radio/TV Correspondents Association, the body in charge of vetting credentials, was never notified of the situation.

The Committee hearings on January 6 will need an “overlay” permit for press members who desire to attend.

Colbert’s crew was greeted with open arms by the House staff. Members of the Jan. 6 Committee, including Reps. Colbert’s team allegedly questioned Adam Schiff and Stephanie Murphy on Thursday night. Representative Jake Auchincloss, a Democrat from Massachusetts, was examined.

Members of Colbert’s crew had to be escorted out of the Committee on Jan. 6 area by Capitol Police.

They were permitted back inside the Longworth House Office Building at about 4 p.m. by an aide to Auchincloss, where they were left unattended for many hours. According to Fox News sources, the aide was under the impression that there were more interviewers.

According to Fox News’ sources, the group roamed the House offices for hours at a time without being seen.

“On June 16, 2022, about 8:30 p.m., the USCP was summoned to the Longworth House Office Building in Washington, D.C. Seven unaccompanied, ID-less individuals were discovered in a sixth-floor corridor by police. These folks had been requested to leave earlier that day because they were part of a group charged with “Unlawful Entry,” which prohibited access to the building. The US Attorney may propose more charges in this ongoing criminal investigation.”

On Wednesday and Thursday, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog was in Washington, D.C., doing interviews for “The Late Show.” CBS reported that the discussions with Congressional employees were permitted and pre-arranged.

A spokesperson said the production crew “filmed stand-ups and other entertainment in the halls” while imprisoned.

“On the 15th and 16th of June, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog interviewed for ‘The Late Show.’ Congressional aides allowed and scheduled interviews at the Capitol in advance: spokesman’s representative Production crews continued to film stand-ups and other entertainment until Capitol police seized them after their final interview.”

Despite the arrests, Colbert’s Friday program was just a repeat.

Who knew, right? But, as they say, the more powerful you are, the more powerful your criminal minds are.
